Tour and Game 'Bonaire dor di Wowo di Heit': A Lens into the Past.

Bonaire has changed a lot in 50 years. Thanks to Bee Caribe's App, your phone literally becomes a "LENS TO THE HISTORY.

Book: Bonaire dor di Heit now digitized in an App

In 2009 the book Bonaire dor di Wowo di Heit (Bonaire through the eye of Heit) was published. In it, photographer Jules Heitkönig takes the reader to the Bonaire of the 1950s - 1970s.

His daughter Ria Heitkönig compiled a wonderful book of photographs from her father's archives.

Now the book has been digitized into a tour of Kralendijk a game in which you can search for locations from the book. This is fully supported by an App on the smartphone or tablet.

What makes the App special is that you can merge images from the past with the present. Exact locations are also indicated on the map. This is where you can navigate to.

In addition, you will get to know Jules Heitkönig through the stories of Ria Heitkönig (his daughter).

Tour

On the map you will see several locations in Kralendijk. When you arrive at the location a screen will open with a description and the Lens to the past.

Included with the various locations are the original texts from the 2009 book. Explanations are also given for the period between 2009 and 2023.

Game: Location Finder

With the App, you can do the game Location Finder:

You will see 20 photographs from Bonaire's past. Using the Lens to the Past you will try to figure out the location of the photo. Each photo includes a description from which you can often deduce the location (but certainly not always).
